Privacy

Plain-language privacy for Decoder.

Decoder is built for sensitive social context. The default posture is simple: collect less, keep it useful, and do not sell it.

What Decoder stores

Decode and Rehearse history is stored locally on your device unless you choose a signed-in feature that requires syncing. People and Patterns data may be saved to Decoder's database when you are signed in so it can be available across sessions.

What is sent to AI providers

When you use Decode or Rehearse, the text you submit is sent to Decoder's server and then to the configured AI provider so a response can be generated. Do not paste secrets, passwords, or anything you are not comfortable processing through an AI service.

Accounts and analytics

Decoder uses Clerk for account management and Vercel Analytics for lightweight product analytics. These services may process technical data such as device, browser, page, and account-session information needed to run the app.

Payments (iOS)

Decoder Plus is purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system on iOS. Apple processes the payment and keeps the billing information. Decoder receives a transaction identifier and a subscription status, and stores only what is needed to recognize your subscription (for example, the Apple transaction ID and the product you bought). Decoder never sees or stores your card details.

Subscription management and refunds are handled by Apple in the App Store. Sign in to your Apple ID settings to view, change, or cancel a subscription.

What Decoder does not do

  • Decoder does not sell your personal data.
  • Decoder does not use your conversations for advertising.
  • Decoder does not claim to be therapy, diagnosis, crisis support, or medical care.

Your choices

You can clear local history from your browser or device storage. If you have an account and want stored account data removed, contact support through the Decoder site.

Effective date
